Why is everybody hating on Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Ana sayfa / Games

Ubisoft has been failing to please players with its new games lately. After the dislike of Star Wars Outlaws, a similar situation is happening for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. A video shared in the past hours has been flooded with dislikes.

A new trailer for Assassin’s Creed Shadows has sparked controversy with the way the game depicts Feudal Japan. The trailer showcases the vast open world players can explore. However, users pointed out historical and cultural inaccuracies. Accordingly, they feel that it doesn’t pay enough respect to Japanese culture.

One of the main points of contention is the architectural styles seen in the game. Gamers feel that Japanese and Chinese architecture is mixed, with buildings crafted without historical accuracy. The trailer’s background music has also been criticized for featuring a Chinese instrument not used in Japan.

Will Palworld be free? A statement from the studio

The Palworld developer had hinted a while ago that the game might be free. However, the studio seems to have changed its mind.

While the game’s open world is intriguing, it was noted that the culture was not accurately portrayed. Accordingly, the trailer received nearly 100,000 dislikes within hours of its release. It was also claimed that Ubisoft used bots in the comments.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage represented the series’ return to a stealth-oriented adventure. The Shadows team took Mirage’s test results and player feedback into consideration and emphasized the stealth elements of the game. And thanks to collaboration between Ubisoft’s various teams and Anvil technology, the new features will be adapted across all projects.

Ubisoft has yet to release an official response to the controversy surrounding the trailer. It remains to be seen whether the company will address these cultural concerns as development continues.
